We're called Identity House, we're a jazzy / beachy / art-rock sort of group (The Doors meets Floyd meets Radiohead + a million other influences, you’d have to make your own judgement about how you’d categorise us). In the past eight months we've been recording an album with some holdover B-sides for a separate EP & a second album already ready to be rehearsed & recorded. Though we've played gigs we've been waiting to launch properly after producing quality material to release & completing our line-up. So, we've finally decided that finding a female singer is the last piece of the puzzle.
Ideally, we need someone who has good presence, youngish (the four of us are between 23-27), a soft / vulnerable sound for the most part but someone who is versatile. The music we make is complex & sometimes borderline atonal & experimental, so some grasp of music theory would be great but not absolutely necessary. Everyone contributes to the music, so if you have material of your own you’d like to work on in the future that’s fine but please, no divas, we always take each other’s criticisms on board & we need someone who can take direction where necessary.
Anyway, we have the preliminary instrumentals for the whole album ready with guide vocals, so you can get an idea of the vocal melody. Our producer has proposed that we send any potential singer two contrasting songs from the album for you to learn & then we’ll arrange for you to come to the studio to audition. Obviously, we’ll be rehearsing for gigs etc. but one of the first things will be getting vocals on the album so we can begin to release material. You will literally be walking in to a band with everything in place & with an intensely bright future, we see it as an opportunity both for us & you.
Please get in touch,
