I'm a 25-year-old experimental keyboardist/songwriter based in Mid Devon, looking to collaborate and have fun with other like-minded sound explorers in the South West. I'm most interested in forming some kind of band, as I've never really been in a proper group or project beyond a few informal stints in my college years. Any instrumental lineup and any central remit (whether that's composing original songs, doing covers, or just jamming) would be welcome, as long as you have an aptitude for playing with interesting textures, exploring different musical forms and styles, and mixing the old with the new. Also open to collaborations in other creative fields, such as multimedia, game development, web videos, film and animation, etc.
Influences: Animal Collective/Avey Tare, Everything Everything, Genesis/Tony Banks, Scott Walker, Yes, Burial, Arca, Mr. Bungle, Sufjan Stevens, Talk Talk, Parliament, Gazelle Twin, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Beach Boys, Gorillaz, Ween, Aphex Twin, The Avalanches, Goldfish, of Montreal, Radiohead, Steely Dan, John Carroll Kirby, Jacob Collier, Coil, various styles of 90s dance music (mostly French house/UK garage) and many more.
You can listen to my most recent album of original songs, "Cleanup Duty", here: https://mattiekonig.bandcamp.com/album/cleanup-duty
Note: I'm a transgender woman, so other LGBT+ people/allies with leftist sensibilities would be ideal. I'd also prefer to collaborate with people who are around my age; having your own transport/equipment and a place of your own in which to make noise would be appreciated too, as my options aren't super comprehensive on either front. (I can't drive and I don't have a proper PA system at home, although for the latter I could probably scrape together some kind of solution with split headphone jacks etc)
