Experienced Male Vocalist (Swing / Jazz / Big Band) – Seeking Flexible Performance Opportunities
Experienced male vocalist seeking opportunities with swing bands, big bands, jazz ensembles, function bands and occasional guest appearances or substitute (dep) work.
I currently perform with the Sutton Bonington Big Band and previously sang with a university swing band. My repertoire includes music from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole and other classic swing and jazz standards. While swing and jazz are my principal musical interests, I am also comfortable performing selected rock and pop classics and would be happy to discuss a broader repertoire where required.
I hold a senior role in the medical profession, which means my availability can be variable. As a result, I am unlikely to be the right fit for bands requiring attendance at a fixed weekly rehearsal. However, I am very interested in opportunities with bands that rehearse flexibly, use guest vocalists, or require a dependable substitute singer for concerts, functions and special events.
I am reliable, professional, quick to learn new material and happy to prepare independently between rehearsals. While I do not read music, I am a quick learner and am happy to prepare material independently from recordings, lyric sheets and rehearsal tracks. Given reasonable notice, I can learn and confidently perform new material from memory.
My primary interest is live performance, whether that be with swing and big bands, jazz groups, function bands or for one-off engagements.
Based in Nottingham and happy to travel throughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire for the right opportunity.
