Hi - Sorry – I placed this add a few weeks ago but didn’t reply to the respondents due to internet issues.
I’m looking for an experienced / advanced LEAD GUITARIST with LEAD VOCALS and BASSIST with LEAD VOCALS for a special project.
Apologies for long note but I want to be clear so I don’t want to waste anyone’s time.
I’m an experienced drummer – been playing since the late 70’s. I’ve also played keyboards – but drums are my main instrument.
I’m looking to put together a band to play 15 to 20 gigs a year playing a mixture of classic and modern soft / light commercial rock covers. With maybe a few originals if the venue is right. (Think Stereophonics, Pink Floyd, Snow Patrol, AC/DC etc…). NOT heavy / metal / grunge / blues etc. Not that there is anything wrong with that sort of music – but there are lots of bands doing it already and I want to be more commercial. Suitable for clubs and perhaps small theatres as well as larger pub gigs.
It will be a 3-piece band but will use a click track with some extra instruments and percussion on a backing track to help fill the sound.
I’m looking to put together a programmed light show and a polished and professional set list.
Due to work / family commitments I don’t really want to be gigging more than once or twice a month. So this may suit someone with similar commitments – or someone already gigging as a solo act or with another project?
Rehearsals will be once a week or to suit everyone until we are ready to gig – then as and when we want. But you should be willing to learn your parts for agreed songs at home so rehearsal time can be used to its fullest. I’d like to be able to get to a quality show in as few rehearsals as possible. But understand that this takes time and the emphasis will be on being polished and professional - rather than going out before we are ready.
I have a rehearsal facility with PA etc ready to use. Near jct 28 of the M1.
Age is not important – but I’m am 55.
You should be an experienced, well rounded musician. Preferably with recording experience and some knowledge of Cubase or similar would be useful, but not essential.
Please get in touch for further info.
Garry.
