Everything Theory are two chaps interested in doing some song writing and playing/jamming/performing who are looking for others to join us. If you play bass, drums or keyboards that is a bonus but singers are welcome. Some female vocals would be nice. I sing but am more than happy to share or do back up vocals if the right ego free voice comes along.
Anyway, we wanted to do something other than a typical covers band . I’ve got nothing against that sort of thing, in fact I’m already in a pretty good covers heavy rock band - it’s just that I wanted to try something a little different and prove that it can be very good too.
We do take a stab at covers but they are more “left field” - trawling the B sides and alternate versions usually - but party band and cruise ship band covers we are not going to be doing. So if a glitter ball and chicken in a basket and playing 21st birthday parties is your thing you are barking up the wrong sapling.
If you want to have a go at doing something different in an ego free environment drop us a line. You don’t need to be a virtuoso either, but by the same token if you’ve only been playing for a couple of weeks you might not fit in (but you never know, perhaps you are a quick study.) We would rather play with a beginner who is easy to get on with than a twit who wants to keep show boating. We are all about serving the song.
Style? I haven’t got any…… that’s what my ex-wife says anyway - seriously though we are pretty much into most anything style wise as long as it sounds good. We probably won’t be doing any Norwegian Death Metal though, so if burning down churches, banging your head until it almost flies off and eating small animals on stage is your bag you might want to jog on to the next advert.
What have you got to lose by having a go?
