Can’t Touch This are looking for a reliable and experienced guitarist to join our established four-piece covers band, replacing an outgoing member who is stepping away due to work commitments.
We are a fun, energetic party band performing well-known floor-fillers from across the decades, including music from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and present day.
We perform approximately 30–40 gigs per year, including weddings, private functions, clubs and pubs. Most bookings are across South East Kent, although we occasionally travel further afield.
We already have a strong diary of confirmed bookings throughout 2026 and 2027, so applicants must be able to commit to existing dates.
Our standard performance is two one-hour sets. The band consists of lead vocals, guitar, bass and drums, supported by professionally produced backing tracks for additional keyboards, percussion and effects.
We are looking for someone who is:
• A confident rhythm and lead guitarist
• Reliable, organised and committed
• A strong team player with no ego
• Fun, enthusiastic and comfortable engaging with an audience
• Able to learn set material accurately
• Available for regular weekend gigs
• Happy to rehearse when required, normally no more than once per month and often considerably less
• Willing to help with loading, setting up, sound checking and packing down
• Comfortable using backing tracks, click tracks and in-ear monitoring
• Able to share responsibility for the running of the band
Backing vocals would be a strong advantage but are not essential.
Applicants will need their own transport, guitars and suitable professional equipment. The band provides the full PA system, digital mixer, lighting system and other production equipment.
Load-in, setup and soundcheck usually take approximately one hour and 45 minutes, and everyone is expected to contribute.
We are currently arranging a new rehearsal space, likely to be around Ashford, Canterbury or Ramsgate.
Our current members are in their 30s and 40s, but age is not important. Ability, reliability, personality and commitment are what matter.
