After a bit of a break, I’m looking to get back into playing live with a band who are equally as keen as I am to get out there and gig/record/tour.
I’m 28, have around 12 years of band/gigging experience and a fair bit of promotions experience too, so I’m looking for something serious with others who are keen to practice/gig regularly and want to be more than just a ‘local band’ playing the same venues over and over again. I’m very pro-minded when it comes to playing live, recording and putting ourselves out there - I work in marketing, so being in a band with others who are passionate about putting the time into promoting our music and gaining regular media coverage would be ideal for me.
I mostly play bass, but can also hold my own as a rhythm guitarist.
Currently based in both Stafford and Derby, have a car and decent gear (aka an unnecessarily large pedalboard for a bassist) and work from home, so I’m not tied down by job or family commitments. Would love to play with anyone else of a similar age (23-33?) who shares the mentality of wanting to get out there as soon and as much as possible, regardless of experience level/gender/personal circumstances.
Originals only, will happily also sing (comfortable with clean/unclean vocals) and would be up for any kind of a band setup (two piece upwards) either new or established. Not particularly interested in working as part of someone’s backing band, as I would rather take a collaborative approach to things like songwriting and band admin.
Will travel for the right thing, just really keen to get back onstage and get out of the house more (and always happy to practice more than once a week).
Genres I’m up for playing:
Punk
Grunge
Stoner
Doom
Dirty Blues
Metal
Alt rock
Anything a bit heavy
Genres that are a no from me:
Covers
“Indie”
Electro (or anything with synths)
R’n’B
Prog
Folk
Rap
Acoustic
