Hi! We're The Eerie. We're a surf rock band that blends a bunch of unusual influences together.
The basis of our sound is old school instrumental surf rock, ala Dick Dale, The Shadows, The Ventures, etc. We mix that with a lot more high energy rhythms, including a lot of odd time signatures.
We've been described as 'math surf', 'post surf' and 'prog surf', among other things. As well as prog, post rock and a bit of jazz we're influenced by balkan and other world music that uses unusual time signatures.
We formed in Autumn last year, and since then we've written an hour's worth of music. We've currently arranged our music for an instrumental 3 piece: guitar, bass and drums, but we're interested in bringing in vocals and other instruments too.

As you can hear, a lot of our tunes are fairly rhythmically technical, so we're looking for a drummer who will be happy to learn songs with mixed meters reasonably quickly, doing the work on their own before coming to the practice room, so we can get back into a gigging state.
Our primary reason to play is for the love of music, but we also want to make something of quality. We hope that each of us can pitch in to help the band where we can including promotion, booking gigs, etc. so that we build a successful, growing band.
We're looking to grow our following in order to gig regularly, book paid gigs, get support slots, festivals, and work with labels and promoters.
