Righto then - I'm Jakk, 28 and I've got about 14 years of drumming-shenanigans and beat-related tomfoolery in various bands under my belt. I spent a lot of time at university dressed as a pirate and running the Rock Society, I've watched too many films and played too many games. I'm bald, bespectacled and I love long walks on the beach. I can also count to 4, and repeat.
I enjoy playing a wide variety of genres, particularly energetic/upbeat hard rock, pop punk and metal, but I've also got a strange fondness for Irish folk music and the Book of Mormon musical.. I'm hoping to find a group in the alt/hard rock/pop punk area, new or established, who're in need of a drummer. Not just for the music but for the camaraderie! I'm looking for my own KG and Jables. You're out there somewhere.
Goal-wise I've always hoped to be able to pursue music full time as a living (as I imagine most of us do) and I'm willing to work to make that happen, but at the end of the day as long as there's good people playing sh*t-hot music together and having a good time doing it, the rest is pudding. Whether you plan to slay audiences worldwide with riffs, or just earn a few free pints at a local dive, I'm in.
I'm 30 mins out from the city centre by bus/taxi, near Didsbury (don't drive sadly) and I run a business from home, so I'm generally flexible and open with time and commitment. I've got a pretty good electric kit I use to practise at home (an Alesis Crimson 2 I called Alan), and I've got all the necessary breakables for gigging and rehearsal, though not a full kit (yet).
Free, available and enthusiastic - if the advert didn't fill you with fright and concern, get in touch!
