Are you a rock lover who used to be a sh*t-hot drummer but maybe life got in the way?
Well we’re looking for YOU.
Nightfires is a three-piece east London based originals rock band.
Well, at least, we were.
Until our drummer of many years decided to only go and up sticks to the seaside in November, the scoundrel.
And his commuting bones aren’t what they used to be.
So now, we’re a dead-keen two-piece on the hunt for a like-minded 30/40/50-something who fancies jumping back into the game and playing a bit of rock every now and then.
We are NOT looking to ‘make it’.
We are NOT planning on being the ‘next big thing’.
And we’re certainly NOT asking for huge amounts of your time.
But we ARE keen on writing and gigging new, loud, catchy songs.
AND having a ton of laughs along the way in always odd, always fun unsigned music venues across London and the south east.
We rehearse for a very reasonable price at a converted barn in Waltham Abbey. Once up and running, it often takes just one or two rehearsals before a gig to get ourselves in a gigable state.
And we aim to play a live show roughly once every eight weeks, sometimes more, sometimes less - it all depends on hectic lives with our families, who of course come first.
It’s a great escape from everyday life, with chats about boozy nights out and ‘the good old days’ of music in downtime as much as the creative job of physically putting together new tunes.
The songwriting keeps the fire in our bellies and, somehow, we’re always able to jam a doodle or two together in most sessions to come up with something gig-worthy.
That’s what we’re aiming to continue to do in a new three piece, altering our form and function to create the new-look Nightfires that incorporates your particular drumming style.
Ideally you’d have your own drum kit, drive your own motor and be flexible on rehearsal and gig days, always booked well in advance.
If you’re interested in meeting for a jam drop us an email at info@nightfires.co.uk with some background about yourself, your drumming abilities and a video clip or two of you in action so we can get a sense of your play style.
