DRUMMER WANTED – FOUNDING MEMBER FOR NEW THEATRE-BASED LIVE MUSIC SHOW
We are looking for an experienced and committed drummer to join us as a founding member of a new live music project, with the ambition of taking the show into theatres across the South East from Spring 2027.
For the past six years, the core members of the band have performed together as one of the UK's premium Eric Clapton tribute acts, performing at theatres and festivals across the South East. We are now taking that experience, musicianship and production ethos and building something new.
The concept is simple: a polished, professional live show that celebrates great music across the ages, played by excellent musicians and presented properly. Our ethos is to create a shared musical experience across generations – a show that people of all ages can enjoy together with friends and family.
We are not looking to build a pub band or simply put together a group of musicians to play gigs. We will be creating an ambitious and compelling live show.
That means rehearsing properly, developing arrangements, working on the sound, presentation, production and flow of the show, and continually improving it. We genuinely enjoy the rehearsal and creative process and place a lot of value on it.
Who we're looking for
Clearly, you need to be a very good drummer. But we're looking for more than someone who can simply learn the songs and turn up for gigs.
We want someone who:
- Wants to be part of building something from the beginning.
- Is prepared to contribute creatively and become a genuine founding member of this new direction.
- Values rehearsals and the process of making a band tight, polished and professional.
- Can initially commit to rehearsing once a week.
- Is willing to put in the work outside rehearsals and arrive prepared.
- Enjoys being part of a band rather than simply functioning as a hired musician.
- Shares our ambition to create a show capable of working successfully in theatres and similar venues.
We already have an experienced core of musicians, infrastructure and six years of working together behind us. What we are resetting is the ambition and direction of the project, and we want the new drummer to be part of shaping that with us.
Our intention is to spend the coming months developing and rehearsing the new show, with performances anticipated from Spring 2027 onwards.
The financial arrangement
This is not a paid session or dep position, and there is no rehearsal fee or guaranteed performance fee.
The founding members will instead share in the income generated by the show. We want everyone involved to have a stake in what we are collectively building, rather than founders taking fees and employing musicians around them.
