Experienced, mature vocalist (myself), guitarist and bassist (age ranges so far 43 - 57) are seeking a drummer for a new band with ambitions!
Based in the Glasgow and Clyde area (rehearsals / recording in either Glasgow, Clydebank or Dumbarton) : looking to create a new band with a big sound - combining punk with a metal edge, one or two ska / reggae punk crossovers and the occasional insanely ambitious experimental dabbling (with some publicity generating parodies requiring samples / effects etc.)
(For a rough guide, imagine a hybrid of Sex Pistols, Neurotic Outsiders, Green Day, Dead Kennedys, NOFX, Offspring & later GBH; mixed with a crossbreed of Motorhead, early Metallica and Anthrax; then stir in some Clash, Goldfinger, Rancid, Ruts, Skindred & Bad Brains - and then finally top off with a dash of Dropkick Murphys, Rumjacks, Korpiklaani and garnish with some Epica.)
Doing mostly our own original songs and the odd cover here & there - and looking to go the distance in terms of gigging, recording, and maybe even a contract and tours (we basically want to crack on with getting another wild ride on the road while our hips & knees can still take the abuse!) ... so we ideally need someone with the experience & ability, and with the kit & commitment.
We all have previous experience of gigging & recording in prior bands, a good understanding of sound quality - AND of the concept of visual presence & performance being part of putting on a good show. We have nearly an album's worth of material we're working on (completed lyrics, some works in progress - and the guitarist is knocking out tune samples faster than a politician concocts excuses for being naughty), we now just need to complete the lineup with the right people to get rolling!
Drop us a message if interested and I'll send you further contact details. Additionally, any keyboard players / effects wizards, and rhythm guitarists or bassists are welcome (our bass player originally played rhythm guitar, we want to expand to a two guitar setup eventually and expand our sound range.)
