We’re Match Fixing, a regular gigging (and relatively professional???) indie rock band from liverpool. Our drummer has sadly decided to leave due to his work and we are looking for a brand new member!!!
About the band: we’ve been gigging for around 3 years and have played all over the country. We’ve got just shy of 100k listens and our lead singer had around 1 million! We’ve got some songs recorded and ready for release and looking to keep the gigs going during this time. We play a mix of alt rock, indie rock, heavier rock and even the likes of poppier numbers. Likened to Foals, backseat lovers and wunderhorse over the years. We’re taking this pretty serious come the new year and are in the process to signing with a live agency that will help us gig all around the country and get as exposed as possible.
About us!: Myself and the other two members are 2 guitars and a bass player all with vocal duties from lead singing to backing. We range from 22-24 and would like someone in and around this age. We all work full time 9-5 jobs and will cater practice and gigs to this. Mainly on the weekend and weeknights will be local (if at all). We all met at uni, love live music, making music and everything else that comes with it. We have a mix of boys and girls so any and all are welcome.
What we want:
none negotiables are as follows:
Must be in and around liverpool/ Warrington. Please don’t be on the other side of the country ahahaha
Must drive/ have some form of way of getting to and from all gigs and practices (we can pick you up of course but may cause problems in the future, so ideally you’d drive
Must be able to practice regularly, we aim for a 4 hour practice every week or two. If you’re usually travelling in the weekend then it sadly won’t work out
Must be available for ALL gigs. We know normal life gets in the way, so holidays and other work related times off is perfectly fine (I’m in Glasgow with work mid week some times. However, we will expect gigs to take priority over an organised night out for example.
Must have all the gear. Well, not all the gear. A decent set of breakables is 100% required and ideally a kit to practice on at home. You don’t need a full kit or anything, we’re still using house kits across venues. But if you would have a full kit, that’s a bonus
Must be committed. Photo shoots ain’t cheap 😂. If we take you on, you’re IN. Please don’t leave 👉👈 x
Must be actively contributing. We will direct on everyone’s roles. Whether it be finances, socials, email chasing, writing, even design work, everyone will have a job.
Things that will benefit are as follows:
Some form of musical knowledge. None of us can read music nor have grades in any instruments but we do know what we’re doing. Ideally you’d follow suit or just be better than us all round.
Some form of experience. We’ve done ALOT of gigs and with that comes nuances that you get down. Experience would be amazing.
Priority. We know everyone is in multiple bands, however, we are all 100% in Match Fixing. We’d never ask you to leave another band or anything that you love to do. However, us having to turn down a gig because you may already have one would not be ideal. This can always be talked about over a coffee or two.
Not camera shy. It’s a pretty public role. We get photographers at most gigs and we’d expect you to smile over crying on stage (unless it’s a reallllly bad gig.)
Love for the game. Please, truly love what we do. We want to WANT to gig every gig. It will of course at times feel like a chore/ a job but we NEED you to ultimately love job x
Be sound. We’re all very social extroverts, we like a drink and a chat. We’d like another member to be the same.
We know that all sounds like a lot (Trust me we know), but I’d rather give you all the info in the world to read at your leisure rather than we get a few weeks down the line and it doesn’t work out.
