Hello JMB folk, i'm Dan, a 31 year old bloke from Stoke.
I've been drumming for two and a bit years (taught weekly throughout, still ongoing) and feel now is a good time to start seeking some people to drown out and keep kinda in time (sarcasm people, there's no way we're all staying in time... also sarcastic, i'll do my best!).
I'm looking for some people, of any kind of ability, to get together with to play covers or originals, so long as the genre loosely fits the Rock/Indie bracket. I like all kinds of stuff but generally my drumming experience to date is in this territory and is where I think i'd be able to do my best for a group. Ideally i'd like to play with some kids my own age that still know how to act their shoe size, for the purpose of developing my playing with a view to heading out to play some gigs.
I have my own kit (electric and acoustic) and have my own transport, I work pretty flat hours too so my availability isn't going to be an issue for a group; evenings and weekends are fine by me and tend to suit most. I also have previous band experience, but as a guitarist; I've been playing since I was 13 and have been involved with several bands locally, mostly covers stuff.
I have a good knowledge of the practice rooms in this area too so finding somewhere to make a racket should be pretty straight forward (I know the good ones from the bad ones). I certainly don't mind taking my fair share of responsibility for organising things.
If you think we're on the same page please feel free to drop me a message; I've set this up so I get email responses to replies and private messages, I check my emails every evening so shouldn't take too long to get back to anyone.
Cheers,
Dan
