I'm looking to join a band after leaving another earlier this year. I have been trying in others in the meantime but can't seem to find the right kind of people nor the originality that I'm used to working with. I won't work with anyone that wants to be the next "....." or has a specific genre in mind that they want to achieve, only people that are amicable enough and want to take the time to bounce off each members' creativity, personality and taste in music to create something that is unique to them (I'm partial to a few covers though).
I've been playing with bands over the past 8 years and most seriously in the last 2 years, but unfortunately had to call it a day with the last one due to clashes amongst members getting in the way of any further progress.
I'm also working in live music on a regular basis, as I have day job as an engineer at a well known independent music venue in Sheffield. Alongside that, I teach drums to several students (meaning I have to be able to read and compose music), so you could say I 'live music' to some degree. The only aspect thats missing is to be back in a working band...
If I was to give examples of what I'm interested in/what I've been listening to most lately, I'd say: Nerve/Jojo Mayer, Snarky Puppy, Kula Shaker, Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes, DeStaat, Dead Harts, Letlive.
