Drummer that is out of practice.
Looking to do regular rehearsals with people that want to do original music or complete variations of covers in a different stile.
Guitarist, keyboard, bass and anyone else that might be interested in a regular group.
Must have a nice attitude as I have ADHD.
To get me to play faster than human, a can of energy juice and cold bottled water is needed, but be prepared for the consequence of a hyper loud exited probably annoying and most likely swearing at the end of finishing a track, its not an insult, its literally me, telling my body we can now calm down...so id prefer it if you didnt swear because it will only encourage me and you will get annoyed.
37 and live in Central Glasgow, not looking to rush into live gigs, would like to spend some time getting comfortable with the people playing.
Not a lead drummer and do not want to play covers, this will take a really good bass player to join or a guitarist that has a set list at the ready, by this I mean more than three songs as I can go through a set list of 12 songs in a three hour rehearsal and play them all more than once.
Can play a variation of stiles from pop rock, rock, blues, light metal and indy rock, unfortunately I do not like playing indy samba music.
My stile would best reflect Pantera, Muse, Dave Grohl, The Slits, Artic Monkeys, Radiohead.
My other stiles are indy punk stuff, fast with cymbals and ripple snair and hard hitting rapid kick or floor tom.
An additional stile would be 12 bar blues.
like a good bit of dark sounding lead guitar, not into shedding or folk that just want to play a scale as fast as they can.
Id prefer if you took your time.
I can be technical with cymbals but ive no played in a while, to get the correct note to harmonise with the cymbals ALL the instruments have to be tuned, not just tuned to a tuner with the attitude of its close enough...they all need to be tuned into each other or I will struggle to play with one sitting at open C and the other one not tuned up from a drop D.
I can also play in reverse if you stagger you notes or play quarter notes so if you notice this I will too but will not be able to kick it forward until there is space.
I like fat and loud drums, have been known to float the drum kick at some rapid speeds but also like to play power kick and do some loud and long drum fills to end out a song.
I can play fast, but not for verry long, so doing three takes of one ridiculously fast song will require a break and things can get sweaty to the point of actual steam visibly coming off my arms and yes I will have a slight swagger not from being cocky but from the numb muscle in my leg, so don't be rushing out the door or expect me to take my hat off if you then want to pop in to the pub for pint...lol
Normally im a bit horrendous for the first rehearsal, but by the third ill have my stamina back, most set list will take 5 or 6 rehearsals to be able to play all the fills as I can sometimes stumble on these if I don't know what im playing, if the kits is tuned differently don't expect the exact same sound or continuity, its important that you can have fun while playing and not have a judgemental attitude.
I smoke so if I don't play regular my fitness goes out the window, by regular rehearsal I'm meaning every week so take the financing into account, you would need to be able to afford to come every week, the reason in saying this is studios don't take likely to cancelling on the day of rehearsals and give priority to weekly rehearsing bands.
So if you are serious about rehearsing and probably recording some of the rehearsals, once a full set list can be played and everyone is comfortable, then gigs might be an option.
