Hey guys,
A little info about the project, basically what we're doing is we're coming up with a theme to write an ep/ album about and then using that theme as the basis for narrative within the songs. We then use this narrative to decide how the music will sound to suit whatever is happening within that particular story, which is why I've said it's cross-genre - though we'll be using whacky prog/ math-rock riffs, with huge metal and punk/noise inspiration as the base to avoid complete alienation.
For example if we were to base the theme on sexy bassists, then we might write a song about a bassist applying to play for us, as that's probably the sexiest thing a bassist could do.
It's just me (guitar and vox) and a drummer at the minute and we're looking for a bassist to complete the line up. We're both 28 but we're pretty open about what age you are. Would be sick if you could provide some vocals yourself and it's best if you have some experience playing with fucky time signatures as we're very inspired by math rock bands so will be wanting to incorporate a lot of metric modulation into our music.
We've a song pretty much finished instrumentally that we can send you a home recording of, as well as a few early stage demo's of new tunes.
Would like to be very clear in that our sound is going to be varied, so we need open minded individuals with wide tastes in music. We might be based in metal and prog mainly, but we are going to be venturing into literally whatever we believe will best convey they story and narrative. This is the central focus on the band, and ofcourse we'll attempt to make the music sound as amazing as we possibly can, but only within the parameters of the narrative. If there's a section of emotional insecurity, we probably won't have a bouncey nu-metal riff to convey that, you know what I mean?
