Hi Michael,
Thank you for your reply. I love the idea of the guitar adding colour and texture to the music. Its exactly what I`m looking for. With this project I would ideally I would like to get a handful of strong / catchy tunes together in an ambient dub style and play them live. We could do this initially through file sharing or in a rehearsal room. I record using Logic and rely heavily on its drum and percussion samples and effects such as delay, echo and distortion. Realistically this will continue to be an important part of the sound as I love working with Logic and it works well for me. It sounds like your experience with music production and Sound engineering could be perfect for dealing with the practicalities of taking Logic into a pub / live environment.
I think this type of music would work well live as I find dub and ambient music to have an enjoyable, calming and therapeutic quality which would be a bit different to the usual pub rock music on offer. If it takes a while to get into a position to be able to play live I would be looking to regularly keep creating new recorded music. A creative and versatile guitarist would be very helpful in taking the music to the next level. I am very happy with my compositions and bass playing but my guitar skills are limited to power chords!
I am very keen to get this project going and know it has got the potential to be really good. I also played in a pub covers band and really enjoyed playing live. I now really enjoy creating and listening to the music I make. To be able to combine creating new music and then playing it live would be just about perfect for me!
I can drive and would be happy to come over to Maidstone for a pint or a coffee to discuss the project further if you want to give it a go or you could call me on 07399 544409.
Thanks again for your interest.
Cheers,
Nick
