Creative Alt-Rock Drummer Wanted! Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/South Yorkshire

I’m Danny, a 28-year-old singer/rhythm guitarist, and along with Sam, a 27-year-old bassist, we’re looking for a drummer to start an alternative rock band! We have demos and a strong vision, and we’re looking for someone to not just play along, but help shape the music and build towards recording and gigging. We’re building a band we want to stick with for the long haul, and hope to find someone excited to grow with us.

The bandmate we would connect with:

- In their 20s/early 30s
- Confidence in their ability or willingness to grow with the band
- Wants to contribute ideas and shape the sound
- Medium to high availability, ideally once a week for music itself and a bit of extra time on top for other fun stuff beyond rehearsals (content creation, socials, etc). However, we're open to different schedules for motivated drummers
- Comfortable sharing production costs, equipment, collaboration, etc when it makes sense
- Located in Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/South Yorkshire and able to drive.
- (Most importantly) Creative and open-minded!!

Bonus points if you enjoy social stuff and hanging out outside rehearsals

Creative Brief

An alternative rock band built as a group of friends that draws on a wide range of shared inspirations. We don't believe in shortcuts. We want to get the basics right, building sustainably rather than burning or fizzling out. Music wise, the band should have an alternative rock foundation and tastefully experiment with synths, samples, and sounds to add unique elements whilst retaining relatability and accessibility.

The band should be flexible and able to play our songs both to a backing (click) track in bigger more advanced venues and setups but also be able to perform live without a backing track and in more raw and intimate analog settings. The band should have a strong sense of brand and image - visually bringing out each member's own personality and building an aesthetic 'world' that audiences can delve into.

The music should feature:

- Compelling vocal performances
- Technical flair and fun instrumentation
- Interesting and variable structures

Think alternative rock with a sprinkling of:

- Nu-metal, metalcore, grunge riffs
- Internet-era synths and samples
- Hip-hop beats, voicing, sampling, and cadence
- Infectious pop hooks, melodies, and catchiness
- Dreamy indie vibes and ambience

(plus other influences if they compliment the core sound)
