Hi
Firstly I’m not a young ‘hot-shot‘ musician. I am an average guitarist in his 60s who has been in and out of various bands since the 1980s. But my roots were always and remain the blues, and I have just busked the blues - solo- for the past 15 or so years. So it’s been a lonely road. I’m very much out of practice working with other musicians.
Having lost the tip of a finger on my left hand a while ago I taught myself slide and open chords as its easier for me. I guess I’m used to working on my own but I just thought that - one last time - I’d maybe see if there are any other old fogeys who have done the ego thing and just want to maybe play a blues set of numbers from Canned Heat’s ‘Lets work together’ , Fleetwood’s ‘Shake your money maker’ - to the Stones “Honky stink Women” etc. I mainly play in G. I ad-lib a lot as I hate rigidity and I like sometimes to go on with a song if it’s working and “busk it”, so if you don’t like this easy going style of playing you’d hate playing with me.
I hardly play a song the same twice, I like to go with the feeling.
I like easy-going and generous musicians who forgive mistakes, have a sense of humour and don’t still think they are ever going to play Wembley etc.
I formed a band several years ago called Sonic Corridor and there are one or two tracks on YouTube still, I think. Check out “Troubled Mind’ by Sonic Corridor which I sang and wrote. Maybe check that one out.
As a busker my equipment is limited, one small fender amp, one small Cube amp, and a couple of old beat up guitars. I’m a basic and simple musician and my only aim is to play blues that hopefully touches the audience.
I have no agenda, no plan, no idea where this ad will lead- if anywhere .
