We’re looking for a bassist to join an original project based in the South West (currently guitar/vocals + drums).
So far we’ve played **40+ gigs including festivals**, and the project is already moving — we’re now looking to lock in the right bassist to take it to the next level.
**The sound:**
A fusion of **funk, soul, blues, flamenco, bossa nova, jazz and progressive rock** — but not in a “genre-hopping” way. It’s cohesive, groove-led, and emotionally driven.
Think:
* Deep pocket + movement (groove is everything)
* Dynamic songs that evolve (not static structures)
* Space, feel, and musicality over overplaying
**The intention behind the music:**
This isn’t just about playing gigs.
The music is about **connection — to people, to nature, to something deeper**. There’s a strong thread of **meaning, energy and authenticity** running through everything we create.
It’s expressive, sometimes powerful and fiery, sometimes spacious and reflective — but always real.
We play originals but also want to increase the covers we play at certain venues.
**Current setup:**
* Guitar / vocals (original material, fronting project)
* Drummer (tight, dynamic, experienced)
* 40+ gigs played together ? already locked in as a unit
**What we’re looking for:**
* A bassist who can **hold a groove properly** (feel > flash)
* Someone who listens and plays *with* the music, not over it
* Open to improvisation, dynamics, and evolving arrangements
* Ideally into similar styles / mindset
* Reliable and up for gigs, rehearsals, and building something long-term
**Bonus if:**
* You enjoy blending styles and exploring sound
* You feel music as more than just notes (there’s depth to it)
* You’re up for festivals, live energy, and growing a project
We already have strong material and live momentum — this is about finding the right person to complete the core lineup.
If it resonates, send a message with:
* A bit about you
* Any recordings/videos if you have them
Let’s build something real.
