TheNonCommitments
(Nottingham)

Hello! Following the recent departure of our bassist, we're now looking for a new addition who would like to come on board and play bass for 'The Non-Commitments', a covers band based in the East Midlands playing the greatest hits of soul, Motown, R&B, with an occasional bit of funk/disco thrown in.
Most of our material is 'classic' 60s/70s (e.g. The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, Isley Brothers, Tina Turner...) with a few modern soul hits too (e.g. Amy Winehouse, Duffy) - Please see current setlist further below.
Our ideal bassist will:
- Be a proficient player with the ability to learn lots of new covers quickly.
- Be able to rehearse on a fortnightly basis in Nottingham (usually weekends).
- Be happy to play around 10 gigs per year across the East Mids (some paid, others for charitable causes).
- Be dependable and have a positive/friendly attitude.
- Have own transport and gear.
Ability to provide some backing vocals could also be an advantage, though not essential.
Ideally you'll also be available to play your first gig with us on 8th September in Desford, Leicestershire.
A little more about us...
We've been actively gigging just over a year, and there are currently 4 of us in the 'core band' (vocals, keyboards, sax, drums), though we often play live as a 6- or even 7- piece with a few additional saxophone players joining us to flesh out the sound. Our ages range from being in our late 20s to early 40s, though we're very happy to work with anyone who fits in well, regardless of age/background!
We play mostly for the love of it and try not to take ourselves too seriously, but at the same time we work hard to put on a good show, so we'd like to find someone with the same level of commitment (despite our name...!!).
We're a friendly bunch so please don't hesitate to get in touch for more info. We would love to hear from you.
