BASSIST urgently required by top gigging Blues band Epping/Chelmsford

THE SONS OF ILLINOIS is a Chicago Blues band with a LARGE social media following, seeking an ACCOMPLISHED BLUES BASSIST to join our line-up: we are NOT looking for a dep. We're deeply passionate about the authentic sound of legends such as Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, Bo Diddley, Lazy Lester and many more besides.

Our repertoire is very diverse within the genre, with so much scope for inventiveness!
To replace our friend who has a serious health issue, what we're looking for is a BASS PLAYER with a genuine passion and feel for Chicago Blues (not 12-bar rock!) - perhaps (but not necessarily) from a jazz background, who can perhaps also play an upright bass; that would be great but it's not essential.

With a number of gigs in the book for this years, plus already some for 2027, we need commitment to a run of once-weekly rehearsals (midweek evening or weekend to suit) either in Epping or Chelmsford.

We have our own full PA system, lighting and stage displays, meaning there's no layout for hiring stuff!
