Don’t judge a book by its cover, our set list can be misleading, Fools’ Messiah is not a conventional covers band, we are a ‘revival’ band specialising in heavy evolution. We reimagine songs from different genres with a modern heavy rock/melodic metal reinterpretation.
Our bass player has retired, and we are now looking for someone to fill his shoes. The right person will above all be easy going with a good sense of humour who enjoys being creative whilst having a great time and a good laugh; that doesn’t mean we don’t work hard at what we enjoy doing! Commitment to the band and to our vision is important to us and we have found to our cost that membership of more than one band causes issues with diary clashes and gig booking and we would prefer to avoid those kinds of problems; life is hard enough!
We don’t care about your age or the brand name on your gear as long as you know how to use it and you can play. We rehearse in stone and we have our own secure rehearsal unit and studio with the ability to produce professional live or studio recordings. The unit is secure, covered by CCTV and has 24/7 access. We have a 3000w Bose PA, full in-ear monitoring system and a professional lighting rig, (though it doesn’t fit into every venue!). We are currently on hiatus whilst we find the right bass player, and we are working towards filling our 2027 diary. We have guitars, keyboards and drums, backing and lead vocal (if you can sing backing that would be an advantage but it’s certainly not a requirement). A 5-string bass is not essential, but we do use alternate tunings occasionally, mainly drop D and D standard.
We have reinvented songs by artists from Adele to Don Henley to The Weekend as well as reproducing more faithfully to the original songs by artists from Metallica to Pendulum. We tend to steer clear of classic rock because there are more than enough bands doing that already, and Britpop is not in our wheelhouse!
