Hi!
Ocean Planet are looking for a committed bassist to complete our line-up.
We’re a progressive metal band based around Reading/Berkshire, active for several years - but in the last three, we’ve carved out a solid presence in the UK metal scene, particularly around Oxford.
Here’s a quick look at where we’re at:
- Three singles released
- Our debut EP ‘Immersion’ releases 5th July, supported by a headline EP release show
- 3rd headliner at Rabidfest 2024
- Shared the stage with bands like The Five Hundred, Red Method, Confessions Of A Traitor, Forlorn, Sarah Longfield, Exist Immortal, Eschalon, and more
- Regular shows booked throughout the year
- Oxford M2TM finalists 2024 and now WINNERS in 2025, so will be playing Sunday on the New blood stage at Bloodstock this year! Same day as Gojira!
We usually rehearse at Rhoom Studios in Reading 1–2 times a month, mostly before big shows, and otherwise rely on individual practice. Our age range is 19–35, and we welcome players of any age who bring passion and presence.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has great stage presence
- Plays tight and pays attention to detail
- Is up for creative input here and there — song writing, lore ideas, merch, etc.
- Can contribute to the collaborative, supportive vibe we value
We all chip in a little financially when needed (usually for rehearsals or merch), but costs are minimal. We have bass playthrough videos ready to help get you up to speed.
