Hi there!
We are Kwintessential, a 4-piece band of mature years; we are all in our 70’s, and collectively have ‘knocked about a bit’ in musical terms. We play pubs, Clubs and functions throughout East Anglia.
Until recently, our setlist was entirely devoted to Kinks music; however - while still retaining numerous Kinks numbers - we’ve decided on a change of direction and now aim to devote the larger part of our set to cover versions of rock and blues songs that we know an audience will appreciate.
Our previous bass player having recently moved on, we are beginning the search for his replacement.
We are a friendly bunch, comfortable in each other’s company, and we like to get ‘the product’ right! That of course means rehearsals, which typically take place at Wyton (near St. Ives) or Fordham (near Ely).
Finding the right person is, as we know from previous experience, a tortuous process - but necessary to secure a shortlist of potential candidates for audition. Along the way, we hope to identify and eliminate time wasters, those with ego issues, and (especially) buskers who aren’t prepared to put the work in . . .
. . . which leads me neatly on to the sort of bass player that would fit in with us
The person we seek will ideally satisfy the following criteria:
- have good technical ability, to provide our drummer with a solid groove to play off;
- have their own professional gear and transport;
- be team-minded, and communicative;
- be prepared to commit to regular rehearsals, to fully learn the required songs;
- exhibit a GSOH!
If you think that this position sounds just right for you, then why not email me with some details? If you include your mobile number, I can get back to you for an initial chat.
Thanks for your time; I/we look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers
Rob
