Hi, we’re an established four piece based in Halifax looking to see how adding another guitarist or piano/strings player feels and how they can contribute to the collective...individuality will have opportunity to shine, but we all play purposefully so that the singer can sing!
I’d love to talk to pianists, guitarists or violin/cello people...we’re just dead keen on adding another layer No bongos....yet.
I’m the guitarist and I’d like a new music buddy to work alongside...music is all original apart from the bits we’ve nicked and it’s heavy, clever and quite beautiful in places without being too snobby We’re lucky enough that our music takes us all over the world and that we get to do some pretty cool stuff, but we all have grown up day jobs and as seriously as we take the band...we find the right balance and make sure nobody is going to get sacked (no gigs on Sunday nights etc)....unless it’s a REALLY cool gig. We rehearse for definite once per week and twice by negotiation if we have a show/recording commitment.
We’re aged between 30 and 40 and have been doing this since our teens...and as we would like to be friends as well as band mates - it’s probably going to work best if you’re similar in age and experience. We like spicy food, real ale and wine, cosy nights in with the occasional wild night out to let off a bit of steam...we have a good sense of humour and are of average build with long hair...apart from the bassist that is of an athletic build with long hair. Long hair is not essential...and as this is starting to sound more like a dating profile than a band ad...I think I’ll leave it there!
Get in touch if you’d like a chat before a fun friendly jam or if you have any questions.
Cheers, Greg
