Atmospheric Alt/Indie/Rock Project - Musicians Wanted Camberley - but open to travel!

Hey!

I'm a 28-year-old rhythm guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter looking to form a small group/project focused on original, atmospheric music, generally in the alt/indie/rock realms.

A broad spectrum of music that can move between quiet, intimate passages and heavier dynamic builds. Soundscape textures, slow-burn tension, strong melodic elements, cinematic payoffs, etc. Something immersive and emotionally driven, but still centred around strong songwriting.

Some influences/reference points:
Radiohead, No Clear Mind, Mogwai, Oceansize, Boards of Canada, Slowdive, Her Name Is Calla, alt-J, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Palace, Pedro Mizutani (my vocal register/timbre probably sits best in this sorta area, plus I love some good Bossa Nova!), alongside various ambient, slowcore, soundtrack and post-rock influences.

**I'm not looking to recreate any of these artists by any means, just giving a rough idea of the kind of musical territory I'm drawn to.**

I already have a multitude of song ideas and rough structures at different stages: chords, vocal ideas, ambient parts, arrangements, general dynamic arcs, etc. I'm now looking for the right people to develop these collaboratively into proper songs, as well as write fresh material together.

Ideally, I'd like to keep the core group fairly small, probably 3-4 people total, maybe 5 if the right combination of people comes together. I'll note that I tend to value versatility/multi-instrumentalism. Definitely don't need to be a pro (I certainly am not!), but a decent level of competency and creativity would be great. Ultimately, I'm looking to build up together.

Initially, I'd say I'm particularly interested in finding:
• Drummer/percussionist
• Bassist/guitarist - someone comfortable covering either or both would be ideal
• Potentially keys/synths/multi-instrumentalist-type, depending on who I find

The roles are far from rigid, though. I'm much more interested in finding musicians with strong instincts who want to contribute creatively rather than simply filling specific instrumental positions. By all means, this isn't saying everyone needs to be a full-on songwriter!

Not strict on age, but I would say I naturally have a preference for collaborating with people around my age, roughly mid-20s to early-30s. This isn't fixed though; if we get along, we get along!

The longer-term aim would be to develop a proper body of work, record albums/EPs, and play live shows if/when the material gets to that point and suits the wants of everyone involved.

Above all, I'm looking for people who I get along with and who are creative, collaborative, reliable, and genuinely excited by the idea of building something from the ground up. I'd like everyone involved to have room to contribute their own ideas if they want and carve out a musical identity, while still being able to work towards a coherent overall sound.
