Above are links to songs.
I have a complete set of songs already written. Heavy fuzzed songs or heavily reverse reverbed. Generation X songwriter. Influenced by early 90s music.
Bassist attached to this project. Hopefully drummer can complement the songs.
Not of vital importance to be into shoegaze as a genre... more important is to complement the song via the drum part otherwise bring your own sensibility to the song via idea for backbeat:
Aiming to do gigs and see initially how it goes...then record songs formally and make videos etc.
Influences: Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Flyying Colors, Maribel, A Place to Bury Strangers, Ride. Shoegaze, dreampop and some grunge.
Also Spacemen 3, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Secret Shine, and lots of others.
Contrary to what it says as my location this is for a London based band.
Unfortunately vast amounts of Hampshire. Wiltshire, Dorset through half a million people has no homegrown alt band breakthrough in six decades.
Unlike the rest the south. And unlike rest of the south rare ones born here who made it all did so by reinventing in a major city reflecting Bournemouth and that region was stifling etc.
I only came to live that region to address an injustice at uni and it never evolves...as musicians who made it born there who left to reinvent uncannily reflect:
"Its stifling, oppressive. Sends out a really bad message you cant self actualise creatively. Cynical way of collectively sneering if you do anything original creatively."
Under the radar rare people born there without the snide and petty weaselly cultural baggage might have self actualised. Conditioned by another environment where there was precedent for people to self actualise in original projects and break. It's for poser T shirt wearing fakes and cover version bands.
