Hey, I'm Ryan, looking to start a serious alt/indie rock band. I'm looking for a drummer, bassist, and lead guitarist.
About me:
I'm 22, feeling really excited and serious about going far with a band. I'm a computer science graduate by day, guitarist/singer by night. I've done theatre for 11 years, which comes with the benefits of great energy, stage presence, and vocal training. I've gigged with two other bands before, studied music tech at school, and post guitar content on social media.
I am loving the upcoming alt/indie scene right now, with the likes of Keo, Wunderhorse, Bleech 9:3, Gurriers, Fontaines D.C., Basht, etc. I also love listening to bass heavy stuff like Royal Blood, Cleopatrick, Tigercub, Muse. Others include Nothing But Thieves, AM, Kasabian, Blocparty, Overpass, The Amazons, HIMALAYAS, RHCP, LEAP. I could go on of course. But you get the idea. I want to break into the scene and follow success like Keo and similar bands.
What I need from you:
- Aged 18-26
- Live within 1.5hrs of Central London
- Fun energy + stage presence (incredibly important)
- not scared to try random and stupid sh-t
- insane drive and love of the game
You don't have to have experience with gigging or tech (although it helps), what's more important is how much you're willing to put into this. The first year of us playing will be us slowing getting better and tighter as a band. I don't expect to rush into writing songs and putting out our music ASAP, as I believe there are so many artists out there already who release music far too early. Of course we can experiment and write some stuff, but I think finding our sound, releasing 1 or 2 songs and generating hype around them is the key to success. If you play too many gigs, release too much music, there's nothing for fans to look forward to. Quality over quantity gang.
Also recognise that although this is for fun, a band is a business. You have to be willing to put some money into this. It costs to get good photos/videos, advertising, art, rehearsal spaces, gear, etc. But I hope you can trust me and together we can actually succeed.
Lead guitarist:
My right hand man, can shred on the guitar, knows their way round pedals and effects. As guitarists we bounce off each other, harmonising and whatnot.
Bassist:
Arguably the most important role. Has experience or willing to gain some with pedals to get some cool sounds. Has the same stage presence and weight as everyone else on stage.
Drummer:
Energy is where its at. Sure, you need to be clean and technical, but you control a lot of the energy on stage. Breaking those high hats, cheering the crowd on, interacting with all of us on stage, while being the backbone and keeping all of us on time.
If this seems like your vibe, and you're truly dedicated about making your dream happen, dm me here with:
- your age + location
- your instrument + how long youve played it
- your favourite bands
- your gig + tech experience
