Just seeing who is out there and whether this resonates with anyone - the idea of a band that isn't stuck on just one genre and doesn't play the common cover songs (you know - the obligatory Dakota, and the killers blah blah).
...and the main aim would be to play 'good' songs/ music and be entertaining - entertaining to ourselves as well as to a (potential) audience. For instance, It could range from Dusty Springfield or Barbara Dixon to Level 42 or The Smiths to Lily Allen, then old style ZZ Top, or an old folk song that no one's heard of...or whatever curls ya boots. The main thing would be to try things out (and maybe think in terms of mellow to heavy, light to dark etc). Also jamming on ideas, creating originals, maybe doing unexpected versions of covers.
Getting gigs would be difficult, but not impossible - so it might not be a band whose aim is to make a regular income (or any income, ha!), but just to be good and entertaining and have fun.
I'm a guitarist (plus singer to an extent, so could be singer on some tracks) - fairly versatile/decent (but not able to play just anything on the spot!), 51, been in various little bands over the years, write songs now and then. Mainly into funky rock/ a bit of prog/ and many other things incl. classical and jazz. Seeking another guitar, bass, drums, percussionist, singer/s, or any other combination that I haven't thought of...(saxophone, glockenspiel....)? Open to feedback.
Prefer to practise in Glass studios or Fallen Industries or somewhere in Wirral but would consider traipsing over to the village of Liverpool (that backwater satellite of Wirral).
Thanks for reading.
