Looking to jam with other people who also enjoy this genre, doing covers and maybe some originals if we feel like it. would like to gig at some point too. i play both guitar and bass so a guitarist is welcome to join too and i’ll just play bass although i prefer guitar. since a lot of the music i would enjoy doing have female/mixed vocals it’s ideal to have a girl who is comfortable with singing and plays the bass or guitar, but it’s not required. the reason i’ve chosen to do a 3 piece is because it’s less hassle and 90s emo doesn’t rely as much on the rhythm and lead guitar arrangement, but i’d be open to doing a 4 piece if a guitarist who was also really into this genre wanted to join. I also quite like dreamy indie, even slow core ish stuff so doing that kinda music would be great too.
Influences and bands i’d like to cover: Jejune, Sunday’s Best, Mineral, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Sundays, Dinosaur Jr, JawBreaker, Korea Girl, ee, Penfold, Pohgoh, The Promise Ring, Red House Painters, The Shyness Clinic, The Smashing Pumpkins, Superchunk, Tacoma Radar, Title Fight, Train Breaks Down, Everyone Asked about you, Braid, Ribbon Fix, Far Apart, First Day Back.
If you’re interested then just reply to me on here and i’ll get back to you. I’m 18 and have been playing guitar for around a year now, and the bass a few months. i know quite a bit of music theory and would prefer if you did too just to streamline things, however i don’t mind teaching you if you don’t know that much
. i also have experience in recording and mixing if that might be useful. preferably people who are around my age, don’t have to be incredible at your instrument, just as long as you can pull your weight. ideally we would rent out a rehearsal room in town centre and play there, but we could also play at one of your houses if it’s big enough (probably the drummers)
