2nd Guitarist wanted for 'Celtic Punk' band (part of the Dropkick Murphys / Flogging Molly scene) :

We fuse the swirl of Traditional Irish music with the electric energy of Punk Rock & kinda sound like The Pogues being backed by The Clash - which definitely gets 'em going & can be a total blast

Guitar-wise: it's mainly a Pistols / Clash vibe but with a Celtic Rock influence. So more of a Gibson sound than a Fender. & mainly rhythm, but a bit of lead as well. A knowledge of Irish music would really help, as it would mean backing Traditional Irish Jigs & Reels (possibly a bit more tricky than ye might think...) & we also do stripped-down acoustic sets.

A bit of flair & stage presence would be very handy indeed, and backing vocals are really needed too, including harmonies - so not just the 'jolly pub crew / mob chorus' malarkey.

London -based would be good, and an Irish background would be preferable - it helps with the commitment & it's important to the vibe - but it's not compulsory. At least a familiarity with Irish folk songs & even Irish humour would be handy enough...

Ability, commitment, a bit of flexibility time-wise, & passport are essential (we're not the biggest band in the world, but we've got about a good bit, have still managed to do so recently, & intend to do more of the same if we can.

And no time-wasters, bread-heads, blaggers, bollixes, jobbing musos or ego issues (fragile or otherwise) - we need someone we can work with, not against - a solid team player that can get along with everyone: someone who gets what we do, is into it, can get the gigs done in a right & proper manner & have the craic afterwards.
