Hi
We’ve recently had our track ‘Magherakesh’ featured on BBC Introducing on 6 Music, kindly played by Jericho Keys. Our music is largely instrumental / soundtrack in nature but with a strong folk influence, featuring a mix of sampled ambience and tape loops with classical and ethnic instruments.
At the moment there are three of us in the group and I share percussion and guitar duties, so I would really like to find a full time cajon player or percussionist to take over, especially for future live performances, and to expand the options on new material (my talent in that regard is rather limited). If you play other unusual instruments then even better.
Also, if anyone wants to contribute to the programming, ‘found sound’ loops and atmospherics we work on together that would be really great to get some new ideas. I play a mix of modified and toy guitars, ukuleles and the Irish bouzouki - I always have strange stringed instruments in various states of being dismantled in my ‘workshop.’ We also have a cellist / vocalist and a bass player who doubles as our photographer - he also writes the extracts of text that goes with each track on the website.
You can hear our lo-fi lockdown home produced demo recordings here, including Magherakesh :

We all have families and day jobs, so the group is very much a passion rather than a vocation, and we fit practicing, playing and recording around busy lives. But we think we’ve found a unique and enjoyable niche and we want the music to be the best it can be.
Let me know your thoughts and if you’d be interested in a jam sometime.
