Hey all. My name’s Molly, I’m a 30 year old Bristol based singer/vocalist and lyricist looking to meet other musicians to start a band or a duet with. I’m wanting to set something up, put the time and energy in, craft it, take it to festivals and venues. You can expect my devotion and as many ideas as I can come up with.
Genres:
Alternative, Lo-Fi, Jazz, Trip Hop, Folktronica, Jazz-Hop, Psychedelic, Psy Chill, World, Folk, Experimental, Acid Jazz, Funk, Rock, Ambient
Music that does it for me: Tash Sultana, Agnes Obel, The Human Experience, One Giant Leap, AfroCelt Soundsystem, EarthRise Soundsystem, Daniel Kahn & the Painted Bird, Peter Gabriel, Kula Shaker, Kate Bush, Nitin Sawney, Yann Tiersen, Beck, Morcheeba, SaQi, Damon Albarn, Bjork, Sam Lee, Suyana, Thievery Corporation. Also (a little different)...Arctic Monkeys/Alex Turner/The Last Shadow Puppets, Gorillaz, Kasabian, R.E.M, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tour de Manege, Neroche, and a whole ton of world folk, especially African, English, Welsh, Irish, Scottish, French Celtic. Notes: I also love contemporary classical music and film scores.
There's so much awesome music in the world!
A little about me:
I have a really creative grounding in song and music, as I have trained quite thoroughly with some amazing teachers in both holistic and classical approaches and practices. I have a genuine love of creative process, spontaneity and improvisation, and the connection between the voice, the body and the psyche/spirit, and I regularly do ‘songsmithing’ - an immersive studio process where I create completely improvised songs from text and poetry. I’ve also sang in a number of performances, community projects and creative collaborations.
I just want to meet some cool people and create some music!
So, thanks for reading this far!
I’m hoping to be able to find people to create music with, and perform with. Please contact me telling me a little about yourself and if any of this resonates!
Last time I put an ad online I had lots of very short messages with people telling me virtually nothing about themselves, just revealing what instruments they play and pasting links to their sites.
I’ll definitely check your links and I’m really interested in what you’re currently doing in life (nothing’s too mundane), letting me know something of who you are as a human being. Music is really important to me, and I don’t just want to “do it” for the sake of doing it I’m seriously interested in creating something that lasts and that we can enjoy exploring together.
Hit me up if you're interested bye for now!
