Hi John, my name is Steve and I am likewise a seasoned old performer (own hair, not all my own teeth though, unfortunately). Mainly played electric guitar, plus a bit of keyboards, in various bands over many years but also done quite a bit on acoustic - including a duo many years ago with a lady banjo/bass player (varied according to the songs), and we did a fab version of Duelling Banjos among other such stuff.
I have fairly recently bought a nice Epiphone electro--acoustic (after the untimely retirement through injury of my lovely old Harmony Sovereign) and have been playing that as much as I can. I can pick a bit and have a reasonable fingerstyle that I more or less developed myself over the years (as well as being a pretty good electric lead player)
Started with the blues back in the day (like many others), got into The Band big style, and via that into country music, which I played for many years (guitar and a bit of keyboards as well) and sort of drifted into WMC type gigs that were the usual mixture of everything really.
The artists you have named seem to chime quite well with me so I think we could well have the basis of something to talk about at least.
I'm quite a good singer (or so many have told me) and love to harmonise or do lead or whatever is needed.
Not been doing much recently except for a bit of playing occasionally on a rather modest level with my cousin in Essex, who I got back in touch with via Facebook a couple of years ago. Subsequently, one of her friends wanted me to a duo thing with him but it's much too far away to think about seriously so I would rather try and find something a bit nearer (I live in Surbiton, by the way). What you have in mind sounds excellent (although I always find I'm happier with a bass player somewhere in there).
Anyway, that may be food for thought for you. You can call me on 07707 893144 or email me on steve@h-online.co.uk
Cheers, Steve
