Bassists, thank you for reading!!
We're looking for a passionate open minded bassist to join us at Liverpool/Wirral Guitar Club - preferably with a taste for Rock/Metal/Fusion.
A brief bit about us...
We're a non-profit club that was born with the aim of bringing like-minded musicians together as a means of knowledge pooling and helping one another become better musicians. But ultimately, we're all about having fun!
Imagine an open mic night...
...where the focus is on the musicianship
...where the show might be paused after each song to discuss a certain harmonic relationship or interesting passage
...where everyone involved is shamelessly pushing the boundaries of their own ability that a slip up or bum note is applauded
Yeahhh kinda cheesy description but i hope it gets the point over!!
We're looking for a bassist that can fill the role of 4th corner stone to our backing band for the club; basically we have a core band that provides the platform for many other musicians to jump up on stage and jam/improvise with us. As part of the core backing band you'll have full control over the music we play, themes of the session, choice of songs we cover etc.
Please check us out at www.facebook.com/WirralGuitarClub for an idea of what we're about
SO, what are we in search of in our dream bassist...
- Rock, Metal or Jazz roots
- Open minded to play new styles (Country, Blues, Prog)
- Play at an intermediate skill (no beginners)
- Reliable to turn up to practice
- a friendly guy/gal. No ego's, no show offs, no cocks, it's all about the music mannn. Personality trumps skill in this venture
The guitar club will take place once a month but a few backing band rehearsals will be required prior to the club night. Rehearsals will use either Glass in Birkenhead or Vulcan Liverpool. Guitar club nights will alternate venues.
Thanks for reading chaps, please don't be scared to get in touch - we're all about having fun!

...from an old post if you're still with us reading this load hah!
If you're passionate about electric guitar and want to meet, jam, chat and share knowledge with likeminded muso's and 'guitar-geeks' then you'll be in very good company here!
This is a social group that is all about having fun, learning as a group, and making mistakes!! It's a great platform for trying things out, playing plenty of bum-notes so you can build confidence and learn how to deal with them, and push the boundaries of your playing. We encourage these mistakes because it means your really thinking, trying new things and pushing yourself.
