Hi
My Rock/pop covers band broke up recently and I’m toying with the idea of trying to put together a Status Quo covers band. The reason being, we had 3 Quo numbers in our set list and they always went down well in pubs/parties etc, also I seem to think that covers bands seem to be able to get gigs far easier than general covers bands. It always difficult to break into a new venue when you call up a landlord and say you’re yet another covers band.
About me
I’m an average “pub band” drummer most certainly the wrong site of 50, I’m an okay drummer, nothing special, but I like to drum loud (hence the Quo) – and I’m looking for similar minded guys (or gals) to join/form a Quo tribute. What I lack in talent I make up for in enthusiasm and commitment to a project once it’s got off the ground – and looking for similar minded people
Couple of things – We’ve all been on “joinmyband” before and know there are lots of dreamers and time wasters on here – I don’t want the type of people who promise to turn up for rehearsals then at the last minute come up with excuses or people who agree to practice songs then announce at rehearsals that they’ve not had the time. Sorry to be blunt, but if you’re prone to that, please don’t respond.
I like to rehearse mid-week after work rather than weekends, and would probably look to start gigging within about 3 months of getting a band together – happy to gig once a month or once every 2 months – certainly not every weekend as I have a life too.
The important thing is HAVE FUN and ROCK !!!!!
Age isn’t really an issue, but if you’re like minded, please drop me a PM and lets get it on.
