Looking for a percussionist - preferably someone who has toured extensively in the past, but now wants to be more settled and play paid live gigs within a 75 mile radius of a home base.
We're looking at clusters of paid gigs stretching over two to three week periods two or three times a year (see the note below about Ash Mandrake and touring).
The band will operate with three or four members and the line up may be different depending on member availability. This band will operate under the same name with different line-ups in different parts of the country.
Musical flair is very desirable, but being able to work pragmatically with other band members and be in the right place at the right time is a must.
The idea is for members to draw on eclectic influences producing music loosely reminiscent of the folk rock genre. But with the line-up changing there will be opportunities to take it off on tangents, so flexibility and an ability to work improvisationly will help.
Ash Mandrake Touring - I've been touring the UK for the last 10 years and live on the road. The band collective model with exciting line ups in different regions, means I get to tour with my solo gigs but gather with capable, experienced musicians to work band arrangements live, and draw from a large network for studio projects.
For a band collective member I expect this arrangement to provide occasional satisfying work in time blocks occurring a few times a year, with the opportunity to join in on larger live and studio projects when availability allows.
You'll be playing with high calibre, experienced musicians, building a reputation for quality, professionalism and fireworks !
