Keyboardist (preferably with vocals) urgently needed for our new wedding/function band based around the Cleveland/Durham area as unfortunately our current keyboardist had to leave for personal/work commitments.
We were in the final rehearsal stage of the project and about to record our showreel, and are desperate to find a new keyboardist to get back on track. That said any prospective members are still welcome to add their input into the setlist.
The band is called "Mixology" and as the name suggests our U.S.P. is that we mix a lot of songs up playing mash-ups of well known songs and artists which adds that little bit extra into the set.
We are keeping the setlist quite fresh and up to date with covers from the likes of Bruno Mars, Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran, John Newman, Walk the Moon, Adele, as well as a few surprises in our mash-ups from the likes of the Bee Gees to AC/DC. Some of the more well known covers from kings of Leon, Amy Winehouse, and The killers are also in the set as crowd pullers. The entire set list is pulled together to ensure any dancefloor is filled from start to finish.
We are not looking at the band as a full time project as we all have other jobs and commitments. We will be looking at performing a couple of times a month and rehearse weekly predominantly on a Monday evening and have our own rehearsal space.
The band consists of a female lead vocalist (Heather) who had a great vocal range and great tone to her voice. Heather has worked with numerous bands of different genres and styles and can adapt her voice to suit any style.
George on guitar who with his talents and musical knowledge adds that little bit extra to our band. He has extensive gigging experience both with covers band and his original band
Martin on bass is really tight with the rhythm section and gives us a really solid sound. Predominantly from a rock background he is loving the diversity of the set and is now proud to admit he's a huge Taylor Swift fan.
Phil the drummer plays a Roland TD50 electronic kit which gives the band a huge range of sounds, samples and sequences. His capabilities to trigger not just drum sounds but multi instruments, samples, vocals, and even lighting effects give the band a unique edge second to none.
We're looking for a dynamic energetic keyboardist to help front the band having lost our original. You will have the opportunity to have an input on song choices, structures and arrangements as we're always looking at mixing up our set for different gig requirements. It would be preferable if you can also sing as our last keyboardist also sang backing vocals. You will take an important role in the band with the opportunity to display your talents as there are some great keyboard solos we have in our set.
We have a full PA and lighting rig and recording facilities. We also have some great contacts within the wedding planning industry who are keen to use their position to help promote the band.
If this is something you think you'll be interested in feel free to get in touch.
Cheers
Phil
