Hi, so heres the deal. I'm 21 years old...play bass and guitar (Primarily a bassist) and have been in 2 bands that simply havent worked out (the most recent one being that the guitarist left then the druummer refused to drum in a band setting so quit). The bands I have formed previously have been somewhat dissapointing in the end due to people giving it up with work and uni etc.
So yeah, i'm a bass player that is quite flexible though i'm definitely most comfortable playing rock. i listen and play to all types of music styles such as Blues, Psychedelic rock, Jazz, Soul, punk, Hard rock and metal. As I say, i'm looking for a couple of guys or girls that are serious enough to want to gig and pick up any little opportunity to play live music.
Interested in forming an experimental rock band that are looking to progress and just do lots of gigs wherever possible and see where it leads to! I say experimental...I think it would be interesting to try and get a unique sound with a mix of old school classic rock and metal with a more modern sound. Basically something a little different from a lot of the stuff out there now by infusing old and new and crossing genres.
My influences are varied when writing or listening to music:
...anything from Deep purple, Led zepp, Sabbath, Trex, Motörhead, Saxon, Maiden, Nirvana, ACdc, Van Halen, faith no more, Kiss, Metallica, sabbath, whitesnake, soundgarden, Who, beatles, Muddy waters, Hendrix, Doors, Gunclub, placebo, Pink floyd, chuck berry, jefferson airplane etc
...to a more modern sounding array of bands like Airbourne, Band of skulls, Tame Impala, QOTSA, Kasabian, Kings of leon (earlier stuff) etc
A drummer, vocalist (we'd all contribute to singing ideally though) a Rhythm/lead guitar player or Both. Basically...I like the idea of a 3-4 piece to keep it fairly straightforward with kind of an old school, you know?
The guitarist(s) should be able to play in a band setting and appreciate the bass (which I like to play lead bass with alot of the time as well as rhythm) and drums and the other guitarist if needed...so basically someone who doesnt solo for hours in every key that the rest of the band AREN'T playing in. Lol Not looking for metalhead shredders necessarily...just players with a lot of variation and has the ability to come up with songs through IMPROVISATION (Which Is how I tend to prefer like to write songs).
The drummer should be creative and good with timing and good at making a beat to absolutley anything. Not looking for a john bonham just someone that can fit the bill of being a good solid drummer that preferably doesnt play too loud.
equipment wise... A play a Valve Marshall VBA400 bass amp through a mesa powerhouse cab along with a fender and an Epiphone.
Guitar wise...I have a Marshall Jcm 900 Markiii through a Marshall 2x12 or a marshall 6100 head that I would be happy for the guitar player to use at rehearsals and live (if you want to that is...though preferably the guitar sound i can just imagine marshalls being the best option) Not going to lie though...i'd prefer a guitar player that is happy to use a marshall/blackstar/EVH/mesa/laney as apposed to a guitar player with a fender/vox/Line6 etc. for the type of music we'd be making really.
I dont drive but have a parent and friends who are all willing! haha
I tend to rehearse at Pear studios in Stockport. Theyll provide the equiptment more often than not but as I say, The gear is there if you wish. Dont mind lending it out.
LOoking to work with easy going people, people that can have a laugh and don't take themselves too seriously.. No idiot people! Haha
If youre gonna make a group that enjoys what they do, you have to all like each other dont you? I'm looking for people aged between Aged between 19-27 preferably.
I will by all means consider any offers to join an existing gigging band if you're outfit is something like what I describe above! Not going to lie though there's not a great deal of material out there of me playing so I'm unable to send any good quality demos over
If you fit the bill, drop us a message saying where you are, who you're into, what you play and what You're actually playing through!
Thanks for reading, drop us a message if you fit the bill.
