My friend and I are looking for a rhythm section, a female vocalist, and a keyboard player/pianist to join us.
We cover a range of pop/rock songs from the 50's up to present day with a few original songs in there too. We really want to expand to full band as it will liven our set up even further and it expands the range of songs we can cover. We have considered going down the backing track route but lots of others do this already and I personally find it a bit too forgiving as it sounds like a karaoke with musicians on top, there's no freedom for improvising, we want to be different, plus we're real musicians that are well rehearsed and can adjust to one another on the fly.
My friend and I have been playing together since college in which we both did the same music performance qualification. Eventually we went our separate ways with my friend going off to university to study electric guitar to a high level and myself going onto further my knowledge on music producing and sound engineering. After graduating from university we got back together and we've been duetting for several years since.
Both of us are singers and multi-instrumentalists, harmonizing with each where we can and we have a fairly good falsetto range. However, there are some songs we just can't do without a female vocalist.
We have nearly a decade of experience playing in bands and we have our own PA equipment and available practice space too. Below you will find a list of songs we currently cover:
