We are currently a 3-piece indie rock band based in Manchester. Our previous drummer has decided to relocate from Manchester so we are now looking to find a new drummer to bring us back to a 4-piece.
We started up in January and then unfortunately with the pandemic our progress has truly slowed. Pre-covid we had wrote several songs and started thinking about recording an EP and gigging. However now things are starting to return to some sort of normality we are looking to address our now lack of drummer and get things cooking again.
Our musical influences are Foals, Radiohead, Arctic monkeys, deaf havana The 1975 among others.
Our music obviously has various influences and we don't really like to put a label on what we make but its indie rock I guess and we all have a love for nice sounding ambient stuff so that becoming a part of the music too.
We currently have a few demo recordings of our strongest tracks and are looking to finalize these as soon as possible. Once lockdown eases further we will be returning to weekly practice which we usually do at pirate studios at either salford quays or ancoats weekdays are usually the best for us.
What we are looking for is a committed drummer aged between 21 - 27 who can creatively write drums and most of all just be sound and a good laugh. We don't take ourselves massively seriously but we love the music were making a would like to get a drummer in can add to that. Contributing to writing material is a must even if its just writing the drums, but obviously if you can play other instruments and write full tracks that's a massive bonus.
As its a bit difficult to do any sort of in person auditions at the minute it would be best that if you are interested that you can either send over examples of previous music you wrote drums for or if you're lucky enough to own a electronic drum kit then we could potentially organise a zoom interview (how 2020 is that)
If this sounds like an interesting opportunity please drop me a message or an email on j.melv8@gmail.com. Attach as much info as you can please and I will happily answer any other questions you may have!
cheers!
