Hello there!
I've been producing electronic music solo for a while and you can see my music here:
https://soundcloud.com/matthew_chamberlain
I hope you like it
At the moment I feel its time to move beyond me and the computer: its time to gather a collective of musicians and start a regular electronic & acoustic jam / song writing session.
You'd be joining me on synths/samples (ableton) and a friend on bass/drum machine (jayjay)
Please bring whatever instrument you like -we're open.
Saying that- I'm particularly interested in poetry/ singers/ rappers who are comfortable improvising - maybe with the aid of effects pedals...Additionally I'm super interestet in 'lead' instruments: by that I mean instruments that will work well over a hypnotic/ droning/ morphing soundscape which me and jayjay can create . I could imagine this to be wind instruments, maybe another eletronic music producer, a pianist, or maybe a harp?, medieval instruments? ...We are really open.
In terms of influences - I'm really interested in soundscapes/ hypnotic techno/ hypnotic house/ experimental electronic/ downtempo/ folk. This may sound diverse but for me they're linked through its the morphing/ deep/ progressive nature...
Some inspiring artists/ tracks from me:
1. Dead can dance - host of seraphim ......love this eternal deep drone vibe.
2. Locked groove - from beyond ...... love the hypnotic deep emotional depth
3. Massive attack - Pray for rain ....hypnotic, lyrical,
As for Jayjay:
1. Robert Hood - Sleep cycles (loves minimal in general)
2. Jazz in general

We know that music collaborations are tricky to set up and that to succeed we need to do this regularly and have a shared vision. I'm currently thinking a commitment of once every two weeks (ish)
If that sounds good then lets meet for a drink first? maybe invite us to a music event that interests you? ...OR maybe lets get straight into a jam?
Let us know if this sounds good and I look forward to meeting soon
Best,
Matt/ Jayjay
