Band Biog -
“Explosive” ... “Blistering” ... “Electric” … “Visceral"; these are just some of the words used by the music press to describe one of the UK’s most exciting and up and coming Rock n Roll bands; Penny Mob. Formed in London by Scottish singer-songwriter Jamie Quinn and Lincolnshire born drummer Andrew Mullan, childhood friends who came together with a shared vision to form the kind of raw, honest and authentic Rock N Roll band they felt was missing from modern music. With their original bedroom demos, the band created a buzz amongst music journalists and radio DJ's, receiving regular airplay throughout the country, including BBC, Kerrang, Clyde 1, Radio X and more. With their versatile and alternative style of song writing, they have crafted their own unique and fresh brand of anthemic Rock N Roll, mixing guitar pop melodies and harmonies with the lyrical bite and social commentary of Punk. Their distinctive sound has already been compared to a wide range of artists including The Clash, The La's, The Beatles, U2 & Oasis. With their powerful, exuberant and passion filled sets, they have gained a growing reputation as one of the most uplifting and unstoppable live acts around, blowing away audiences at numerous UK festivals, including being crowned the winners of the Isle Of Wight Festival ‘New Blood Competition’. On top of this they've opened for bands such as Feeder, The Pigeon Detectives, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Stranglers, Newton Faulkner, The Fun Lovin' Criminals & more. With their debut single and music video “21st Century Kids”, the band went on to further cement that reputation. Written as a “soundtrack to the social media generation” the strong message of the track and video stayed true to the band’s original ethos; to “write songs with a message, that are about real issues and observations of the world and society, with a hearts on the sleeve, unapologetic, no bullsh*t - honesty. Whilst at the same time, making people want to dance their heads off!” Penny Mob. Remember the name.
