Any jazz musicians out there, or musicians with a desire to get in to jazz (at least some jazz experience would be useful)?
We've lost a couple of band members recently to jobs/career moves so are looking to bolster the band.
We play mostly jazz standards (Real Book type stuff). Usually instrumentally, although we occasionally work with vocalists when a gig requires vox.
Virtually all gigs are paid - amounts vary. Happy to give more details privately.
Ideally we're looking for regular band members, which means approximately weekly rehearsals til we've got you up to speed, and then just occasional rehearsals. We typically gig a few times each month (busiest month was 10 gigs but that was an exceptional month).
Happy to hear from potential dep musicians too but please make it clear if you are just looking for dep spots and don't want to rehearse. I've had too many promising conversations in the past where its taken days to find out that a promising new band member only really wanted to turn up for gigs for the money.
Although we're primarily looking for rhythm section members, I'm not specifying particular instruments as I'm keen to network with any jazzers out there for potential opportunities going forward, so if jazz is your bag, please get in touch.
Can provide links to hundreds of videos of us performing over the last 3 years. If you have any links to your own playing they would be much appreciated.
Any age and gender welcome.
You just need all your own gear, transport, and a passion for the genre.
Hope to hear from you, and all the best.
