Guitarist needed to play in one of East Anglia's premier wedding and function bands. Pay ranges from roughly £60 to £259 per gig (depending on event).
Band: Iconic - Party Band - www.iconicband.co.uk https://www.facebook.com/iconicpartyband/
This is a major opportunity for any guitarist to be part of a regularly gigging and well paid professional band. Our current guitarist is unfortunately moving away so we need to find a replacement as soon as possible.
Only applicants with: own transport, own equipment and recordings of themselves playing their instrument should apply.
When joining Iconic you will be joining the business team where roles are shared. Each member is as responsible as anyone else for securing gigs and promotion so a good work ethic is a necessity and some time at home will be required to help run the business. Rehearsals are fortnightly on a Wednesday evening at Earth Studios, Norwich (usually 8pm to 11pm).
The ability to have a regular Monday to Friday 9 to 5 job and be in this band should be no problem. The vast majority of gigs are Friday/Saturday nights and occasionally Sunday afternoons. There may be more than one gig on a weekend.
A good understanding of theory is beneficial but not a necessity - being proficient with your instrument and the ability to at least sight read from a chord chart is necessary though.
Being comfortable with improvisation is needed - although the band is covering popular songs there is the requirement to be able to improvise and be comfortable with your instrument for extended solo sections as well as learning the original solo sections to the best of your ability.
The ability to sing backing vocals in harmony is a major plus with your application.
This may seem obvious to many but experience within a band setting is a must such as keeping eye contact within the group whilst playing and having a good understanding of volume dynamics.
Current line up includes Carl Cole, Dan Veall, Claire Louise Lloyd & Sharmayne Richardson
