Band with GSOH seek new guitarist in the South Devon/Torbay/Newton/Exeter area for friendship and fun times.
- Do you enjoy playing long meandering solos?
- Do you think black, death and nu-metal, grunge, and grind-core are all that’s important?
- Do you need to be taken to gigs and rehearsals by your dad?
- Do you think the guitarist is more important than the rest of the band?
- Do you play for your own enjoyment – to hell with what the audience enjoys?
If you can answer yes to any of the above then please swipe left!
On the other hand, if you want to play in a well known and respected local band - focussing on quality, rather than the quantity of gigs - and want to do more than just plod through the usual cover songs, then please get in touch with Raspberry Fish at raspberry.fish@hotmail.co.uk or PM the Fish Facebook page to arrange a chat.
Following our previous guitarists departure, we have decided to spend some time rehearsing a new set, rather than just going straight back to gigging with our current long-standing set list.
We would love our new guitarist to be involved building the new Fish from the start - selecting songs, working on arrangements and mashups, discussing formats, the approach, branding, setlists, gear, beer, venues etc. etc. etc.
Essential requirements are:
- Playing guitar to a reasonable standard (well derr!) – feel and sound are at least as important as technical ability for us (just ask the drummer!!)
- Decent level of experience playing live with a band.
- Good stage presence and the ability to engage the audience.
- Own transport that doesn't routinely break down.
- Decent gear that doesn't take 45 minutes plus a further hour of test riffs at volume 11 to setup
- Willingness to play anything as long as it's good music that both the band and the audience enjoy - anything from ABBA through to Rage against the machine.
- Happy to rehearse regularly for a period with a view to doing 2 or 3 gigs a month max – aiming for festivals, decent music venues and pubs etc rather than soul-destroying functions.
- Enthusiasm and a good attitude!
- Be reliable and committed
Nice to have:
- Backing vocals – would be really cool - as long as you can sing in tune 🙂
- Experience with PA equipment.
- a liking for beer (or wine!)
