Hi,
I'm a mid 20s bedroom guitarist who is currently sick of playing to an audience of 1. I'm looking to put together a band, with the intention of a few casual gigs - not looking to fill a calendar but 1-2 gigs per month would be ideal. Looking for a vocalist, bassist, rhythm guitarist, drummer & ideally keyboard player. Basically an entire band. Looking for talented and versatile people who can commit to a rehearsal at least once a week initially. Age is not important, but please have your own transport.
I've been playing off and on for the past 13 years, I am primarily rock influenced with a bit of metal & blues evident in my playing. I am quite an energetic and charismatic player, I like to move around whilst playing & do not stand wooden and rooted to the spot. I tend to play a lot of AC/DC & similar era bands - and this is the primary style of music I am looking to play. An ideal gig playlist for me would feature mainly older era rock music (AC/DC, Zeppelin, Deep Purple etc) but also look at playing some newer stuff, possibly a little metal (nothing too heavy for an average pub) & also some rock arrangements of 'popular' songs for a novelty and crowd-pleasing factor.
I have had a number of years of experience working in a professional gigging band as a sound technician, have extensive experience of working with a PA system & also much of the 'managerial' aspects of working within an actively gigging band.
At the moment I am willing to keep things very loose and casual until something is built up, please be aware that I am looking for a full band and due to this - you will have to bear with me in regards to how long putting this together will take.

I must apologise in advance for the following list, however I feel I need to be clear from the outset regarding my expectations.
Things I am not looking for;
- Egos. Please, I'm a really nice laid-back person & I just want to have a bit of fun with this. I'm not wanting to exert my energies with egotists or people with abrasive personalities.
- Beginners. I'm sorry, I might not be the world's best at what I do - but I'm looking for competent players.
- Songwriters. Specifically, songwriters hell-bent on showcasing their material. Sorry - but I'm looking to form a 100% covers band. I appreciate you have talent, but pub audiences don't want to hear songs they don't know.
- 'Bums'. If you don't have your own transport, cannot make a financial contribution where necessary (rehearsal space may need paying for, equally, for example) or have a general expectation that other people will look after you, then you're not what I'm looking for.
- Timewasters or poor timekeepers. Speaks for itself.

(sorry about that, but its best to be forthright in my expectations from the outset)
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED... (what I AM looking for!)
- People who are committed
- People who have their own transport
- People who have gig-worthy equipment
- People who are easy to get along with
- People who have a similar musical taste
- People who have a similar mindset regarding the band
- People with a good sense of humour
- Good stage presence
- Entertainers
- Have a PA? Fantastic. Have stage lighting? Even better.
- Ideally you'd be in the south Durham area, I am based in Spennymoor - so anywhere nearby would be excellent. I have my own transport however and can travel. Any rehearsal space would be arranged as central as possible to everyone to make things fair.
To reiterate, I am looking for...
- Vocalist. Optimistically someone with a bit of stage presence and good range, someone who can comfortably sing classic rock era stuff.
- Rhythm guitarist. Harmonising during certain songs would be nice if you can play lead, but primarily looking for someone happy to form the rhythm section.
- Bassist. Not a lot to specify here. Versatile and technically proficient players sought.
- Drummer. Not a lot to say here either. If you're energetic, tight & (obviously) talented then that's great with me.
- Keyboardist. Versatile and talented players sought, would love to find someone able to play in the style of Jon Lord.
