We are currently seeking members for 'Dirty Skank' Two Tone, ska and reggae tribute/covers.
Covid stopped us in our tracks and highlighted differences in commitment and motivation therefore touting for new members.
Drums, bass and lead guitar accounted for but keys, sax, vox needed. Additional brass welcomed.
Own equipment and transport essential.
The plan is to work on a small set list to support other bands aiming to build a strong set of genre favourites with shared suggestions to be able to provide our own 20-30 song set.
I am well connected locally and in London for gig and recording opportunities. I was previously the drummer, lyricist and co founder of Hometown Hi-Fi and Audiotonic as well as being largely the driving force behind the two bands throughout their duration.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a busy proffessional outfit with fun and growing a following being the main incentives. Although the aim is to create a strong sounding, visually memorable covers/tribute band, I also have completed lyrics if the oportunity arose for writing originals.
I dont do things by halves HTHF played the MADNESS House of fun weekender having created our acclaimed "long gone" EP mixed by my friend Johnny Milton whos cv includes working with Aswad, Maxi Priest and Dreadzone to name but a few.
We also headlined a sell out Agincourt gig supported by The Rebel Dread - Don Letts on decks.
Other supports included The Neville Staple band and Lee Thompsons ska orchestra and enjoyed playing venues such as The Garage, Fiddlers Elbow, Elephant and Castle, Boiler Room, Agincourt, Minehead, Undercover festival, Fake festival, Gaz's rocking blues club - Soho along with a number of functions, pub and club gigs & Scooter rallies.
Prior to disbanding we featured in magazines and radio shows and with Hard-Fi bassist Kai Stephens on board, we were becoming quite an outfit.
With Dirty Skank, we aim to achieve the same, if not more.
Audiotonic created an album 'Dreamland' and single "Dreaming" featuring Donette Forte, mixed in part by another good friend Gary Mcpherson of Big Audio Dynamite 2 and Rotten Hill Gang fame in Mick Jones' bunker. We also supported Dreadzone and were played on Don Letts Culture Clash radio show.
These opportunities are on offer once thd line up is complete and the set is ready.
So if you want in....pm me.
Commitment, motivation and band democracy are hugely important factors.... Im keen to build a succesful band with social medias, website and a busy calendar.
If you are too... I look forward to hearing from you
